ls/vtec torque specs
whats up i need the ls/vtec torque specs for the head, the cam covers(cams).. i believe the cams are 20 pounds, but not to sure about the head, heres the set up 98 Ls bottom with a 98 gsr head.... anyone know the answer let me know thanks
the head specs i believe are
step one: is 22 lbs
step two: is 61lbs
just like a regular B series
Just remember start from the inside and move towards the outer bolts
and as for cam caps i believe they are 20lbs i may be wrong on that
you may want to check out a shop book on the Vtec heads to be correct.

the manual actually has a specific criss cross pattern to tighten the head bolts in.. you should follow that. When i replace a head gasket or otherwise have to retorque a head, if im not using new head bolts, i will set my torque wrench 2-3 pounds higher than the specs to account for stretch
Im not accountable if you do it and break your head bolt or something though
