Difference between OBDI and OBDII? Searched Google for this question many times, but all it gives me is bullshit answers. Help me out, looking to get a EF or EG Civic and I know it has something to do with those two cars? Please help.

P.S.- Something in the wiring harness, maybe?

 

on board diagnostics..it has to do with your ecu and the wire harness and also some components in the engine bay...

The EF is pre OBD.
The EG is OBD-1.
Everything after that is OBD-2.
There are even a couple versions of OBD-2 (2.1 and 2.2).

 

let me be more specific

88-91 = obd0
92-95 = obd1
96-98= obd2a
99+ = obd2b

 

And it just tells if somethin is going wrong (hence 'diagnostics'), like sensors and ish?
