The stock trunk is fine compared to the cf one. Though if you like the looks of it. Replace both. The front hood is a change. You will notice the weight difference also. Just make sure you get a set of hood pins for safety.

I don't remember the correct weight for the stock hood/trunk but it does take off some weight.

Maybe 10-15lbs each, maybe satan_srv (joel) remember the numbers.

I'm talking about a 5th gen, I don't know about 4th gen.

There was a member here that had massive weight reduction on his 5th gen. It helped him shave off some time on the 1/4 mile.

I think his SN was Bolivianfuego or something like that.

Unless you're going turbo or major NA build up, don't waste your money on a cf trunk/hood unless you're going for looks.

asking price is $200 but I got 3 people interested right now, highest offer get it.

I don't think it's 50lbs, more like 36lbs.

There was a thread about this, let me look in to it.

I'm not sure about the stock 5th gen trunk. It'll be a little bit more w/ the stock spoiler. I know my CF trunk weighs 15 pounds though!

check out this thread: https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1

or do a archived search on "CF trunk"

doesnt say how much a stock 5th gen hood and trunk weighs though...the problem is i can supposedly get a VIS cf hood and trunk for 300 a piece. I'm also putting in CAI and i want know how much the hood/trunk weighs so i can estimate if its worth it. i think im just going to have to take it off and weigh it.....

well, for the trunk you'll be saving 10 pounds at least. the hood, maybe 15.

i don't think it's worth it, unless you're buliding a race car w/ b00st, NA, SC...etc

basically it's all for looks.

it's your car, you do what you want.
