New Azenis?
I saw it posted on another board with no confirmations. yes it does look water friendly while still maintaining large shoulder tread blocks with minimal cut. Looks grippy, wonder how soft they are?

Hey Emerika I live in the PNW just like you (Everett), but I'm afraid to get Azenis because of the upcoming rain season. What is your experience with the Azenis in the rain?
I will be all over these new Azenis if they are more rain friendly.

a lot of people say it's pretty safe in rain as long as there isn't standing water. however, i am not comfortable with azenis in the rain. maybe on a track, but not on the hwy.

i live in fl where it rains almost everyday in the summer and fall... and i never have had a problem with my azenis in the rain... it all comes down to one thing
if you drive normal in the rain then you will be fine.... now if you try to practice your track skills on some street in the middle of a thunderstorm then you will lose control

Exactly...people like to overexaggerate how the azenis handle in the rain. I've taken mine up to 75-80mph on the freeway just to test them in medium/heavy rain and they held traction the whole time. I'm sure deep puddles would be a different story, but I have yet to run into one deep enough to bother me.

at full tread they are fine, even in heavy rain. And yeah, of course they arent that great in standing water, but how many tires are actually good in standing water?
and if you are driving in standing, you shouldnt be going fast, whether you have azenis or not.

My Azenis did much better than expected at a recent track day at Mid Ohio where it rained pretty heavily. I ran the regular line just about the whole track where a lot of other people ran a wet line and the car stuck very well. There were only two spots I was really concerned, one was in the straight between turn 1 and the keyhole where there was a lot of running water and seemed to be some wind and the other was at the end of the back straight where I just wouldn't go as far to the outside because of a lot of standing water. I was very cautious my first session out in the rain, but was getting more confident. The second session out in the rain I was much more confident and passed just about everyone. My instructor was great and thought I could have gone even faster in a few sections. Overall, I thought the Azenis did quite well in the rain. Unfortunately I never had a wet track day with my two previous sets of S-03s, but I don't know if they would have done much better in the standing water. A couple of areas the S-03s are better in are noise and holding up to heat. In the dry track sessions I've had with the Azenis they squeel more under heavy driving and they start to get a little greasy when the get hot.

I had azenis on my lude, we had a real bad storm and i would be hitting vtec and not going anywhere. Thats usally a bad sign. I was going like 40 MPH down the tollroad at best because i could get any damn traction. I switched to parada spec 2's. They dont wear as fast, havent tested the rain action yet though.
