I purchased my GSR this past summer, and seem to be going in the direction of modifying it for the track. I recently put in Yellows/Prokit, will be getting s/s brake lines, Kuhmo tires, etc...

I want to get in to AutoX ASAP! I love this car, how it handles and how it loves to race to 8000RPM. I REALLY want to race it, and get into the racing community.

I have excellent control of the car on the road. I heel-toe when driving and have a basic knowledge of racing... I also know that I have a LOT to learn!

Two Questions (sorry for being long winded)

1) What can I do to help me further before my first race?

2) When is the next race in SoCal?

nothing much you can do. Just go out there and have fun. Learn then work your way up from there. Later move from street tires to some r compound tires.

www.solo2.com checkup on that website every once in a while. There's an auto-x tomorrow at hollywood park.

 

Spend your money on going to the track rather than on the car. Upgrade later after some track time. Check out this Club, it's a good club for beginners in California.
