Default del sol suspension

looking at a del sol w/ b16 great price

is the suspension setup the same as 92-95 civic?

i am looking to make this a track car and would like to purchase omnipower coilovers for it. however, i dont see a listing on their website for the del sol.

thanks in advance for any input/advice

It's basically the same as a 92-00 civic setup. Only since it has a targa top, Honda had to reinforce the car more. So unfortunately you'll have a lot of body roll. Where are the other Sol people at?

It is the same suspension as the 92-00 Civics when i ordered my lowering kit with new shocks struts and springs it was the exact same kit as the civic. Some ppl i talked to on e-bay told me different when i wanted to order mine but after some research i found it was the same so.

thanks for all the replies... i am really looking forward to tracking this car....

i will do a search, to see who makes a sway bar kit to cut down on the body roll.... i would think hotchkins, or eibach, etc... would make something...

Theres a ton of ppl who make them for the sol, E-bay has some cheapies listed all the time i belive for about $35 but keep in mind most of those arent the best for your car. So check out E-bay you can get a lot of good stuffs for your car on there for far less then retail

is this sol with the b16, has it had a swap or was that the orginal engine?

On the del sol VTEC (stock with a b16a3) had a rear swaybar on it. Nice thing about that is, you can swap on any swaybar from an integra without switching your LCA's. If it is an SI or S and you want to put, lets say a ITR 22mm rear sway on, you need to swap out your LCA's. Other then that, it is the exact same suspension as the integra/5th gen civic.

geez this thread is full of a lot of good information and a lot of MISINFORMATION

just becasue the chassis is reinforced does not mean more body roll.....if anything there would be less.

you can use any suspension setup off of a DC2 non R and any civic 92-95 without any modification. if you are looking for less expensive but good performing coilovers check out hte ones available on http://www.memoryfab.com

I used to have a hatchback, and someone gave me the suspension off a sol, it's the same thing.

or you can change the rear lca's and use the dc2 type r shocks. If you're gonna track it, get some good coilovers!

Really, its almost not needed. Pretty much all coilovers that are made for the DC2r are also made in EG's versions.

However, I did go with ITR rear LCA's with Tein HA coilovers since the HA's were not available in EG suspension.
