Now, I have never had this happen to me. But, of course, when we were young we all had these ideas on how to vandalize and so on and so forth. I, for one, never did do anything like this, though.
This being said, I am not an expert. But, what I heard was that sugar in the gas tank will only damage one part of the car.
It will only clog the fuel filter.
And, only if they put a lot in your gas tank.
But, this is only what I heard. Take what I said with a grain of...sugar.
Stay cool and stay safe. Make sure your cap is locked and don't make any enemies.

the newer accord s have a whole subframe that goes around the gas tank. it is hell to remove. I suggest that you bring it to a shop because you cant do it on the ground
It's a good thing you noticed becuase if you would have started the car then you would have been FUCKED. Well, fucked as far as the "sugar in the gas tank" legend goes. I for one have never done it but i guess it ruins the motor. As previously stated, make sure the WHOOOLE tank is clean and all the fuel lines/filter is drained and everything before you start the car.

LOL.. i found this kinda interesting and wonder what would happened. So i did a search and someone here hit the theory on the spot. Here's the link if u're interested.. http://www.straightdope.com/mailbag/msugargs.html
Sugar was a big problem for carbureted cars. The sugar/gas solution would get hot in the carb and then after shut-off, cool down and crystallize. Then you have a carb coated from the inside in rock candy.
It's certainly not good for fuel injected cars but I haven't heard of it killing one.
