Default went to go start d-buildup AND....

okay. so some of you may have been following my z6 build-up. (12:1 c/r)

i went to go start it and i prep-ed the fuel pump(turning it over with the plugs out) and it sounded great.
i put the plugs back on and i herd a big POP, so i stoped and inspected everything. i found my plug order was off, and im also starting this running 87(im putting 94 in tomorrow)

would that POP been caused by the octain being too low, or detonation problem?
any input would be greatly appreciated... im a bit worried..

You answerd your own question man, your firing order was off and the plug fired when it wasnt supposed to.. That caused the pop.

Dont run 12.1 on 87 oct.. is it really worth ruining a motor,, Take off the fuel line and stick it in a gas can and have someone turn the key and let the fuel pump, pump it all out into the can, then replace the line and fill with 93.

What Tbone said ^ don't risk running 87 octane on 12.1 compression, you will be sorry. And considering you don't even have it tuned yet your asking for more problems then, a miss matched firing order. Just trying to help you out my friend. What kind of fuel management are you going to be running?

VAFC2 and bigger injectors will work very well. Or, ask Birt how we fuel the rally car at 12.2:1. It's cheap and fabulous, but not recommended.

Good luck with the engine.
