Source of civic keyless remotes (fobs)

Source of civic keyless remotes (fobs)

Can anyone point me to a reliable source for the keyless transmitters for a 1998 EX civic with factory keyless present in the stock HU. I search ebay and can only find remotes fro 99-00 and 2001+ civicsP/N:38010-S5A-A.

Would the 99-00 or 01+ plus remotes work on a 96-98 keyless system? Do the transmitters vary across models i.e civic , accord, crv, etc. for each year.

Dealer gave me a P/N for the 1998 transmitter Tx:72147-S04-A02 but is asking for CDN $101.20 for each. Thats ridiculous, dont ya think especially when the newer ones are going for max $20 on ebay.
