Default 5th or 6th gen Accord

Which do you guys like better the 95 or 98 accords? I know the 98s are better but I was wondering which one does every one and what are your opinions on which looks better? I think the 98s are the best looking accords and the 95s are the second best. I originally wanted a 98 accord but they are alittle out of my price range so I considered the 95 accord. Should I save the money and buy a 5th gen accord cash or take the 5000 dollars I save for a 95 and use it as a down payment on a 98 and pay off the remaining 3000?

Totally up to you dude. Get what you really want because in the long run you'll be happier. I've got a 5th and 6th gen Accords and I love both of them. I do like the 5th's styling a little better though. I think its more aggressive and it feels less like a large car then does the 6th gen.

I like the 5th Gen a lot better but I like mainly the 96 and 97 ones because I like there tail lights better. I like the 94 and 95's second best then I like the 2 door 6th gen but I don't really like the 4 door ones. I love my 5th Gen and highly reccomend one. I would go with the 5th gen if I was you but it's totally up to you.

Man, if you want a bigger car get a bigger car like the 98+ model. If you want a smaller go 90-93 style.

I've got a 4th and 6th gen and love them both. 5th gens are for losers who can't decide WHAT they want. 5th gens suck!

LOL yeah sure. The earlier ones are ugly as can be and the 6th Gens are fairly nice not my favorite but pretty nice but are big which is why I don't like them and I also hate the stock tail lights. The 5th Gen's are perfect they look cool and feel small while still being big enough to fit your family in.

The 6th Gens also seem to have more tranny problems.

Thanks. I will definitely get a 5th gen. But should I pay cash or make payments? If I had the choice I would get both the 5th and 6th gen Accords. I like the dash and interior styling of the 4th gens the best. They have the best looking dash design. I like the 94/95 tail lights of the 5th gen and the 98-00 of the 6th gen because of a few changes they made to the body trim and tail lights of the 01-02s. As for making payments or paying cash I choose to pay cash first but started to reconsider payments instead. I might stick with cash.

i have a 6th gen and it def has a transmission problem. I had the car for 2 months and the slipping was rediculous. I had it replaced under warranty luckily but it still does it every once in awhile.

by the way, when you say 6th are better then 5th do you mean speed wise or comfort?

I like the 94-95 5th gens, the 96-97 tail lights look more sedan-ish in my opinion. The size of a 5th gen is perfect for me too, where as 6th gens and newer feel like boats...

The people that say the 6th are better than 5th gen ones are just saying that beacuse they own a 6th instead of a 5th. Although the same thing could be said about me since I own a 5th but I have seen many people on other forums that have owned both and like the 5th gens better because they don't seem to have as many tranny problems although they still don't have the best trannys. The 6th gens also look and feel huge like the others said. I liek the 96 and 97 stock tail lights the best but I like the aftermarket chocies for the 94 and 95 I just don't like the stock ones and I like both stock and clear ones in the 96 and 97. Anyone know if the clear ones are legal cause my cousin that lives in maryland got a ticket on his mirage for them but it was 2 years ago or so anyone know if they are legal to put on an accord if I put red bulbs in?

I mean there better in general. In appearance, features, performance, design and specs. And they have better colors than the 5th gen Accords.

I was just screwing around talking about the 5th gen. I would have to say the 5th gen is a great way to go to get that smooth newer curved look without the big size and "middle age man" look of the 6th gen.

I got my 98 5-speed EX for $5500 cash. It was a private sale off of autotrader. It's so clean I could eat off cam cover. If you look hard enough, you'll find the car you want, at the right price.

You sure you would take the 5th gen accord even if yuu had the money to buy a 6th or both were presented to you and you could take one free.

me likey the 93, plus 4th gen is lighter, then 5th gen, then the heaviest 6th gen, but between 5th and 6th, i prefer 5th, also its easier to swap in the h22 since half of the 5 gens (94 95) are obd 1 and the mounts are less of a problem

I had a '94 EX and now a '99 LX. If you like the 6th gen more, then save up to get that, or do the payment. It depends on what you want to do. If you're going to keep the car for a long time, then get the one you really want. Most likely the 6th gen is going to have less miles, but it's going to be something you have to decide for yourself.
