What do you mean Jdm motors do not work on oil pressure. Yes they do need oil pressure. The oil pressure is what pushes in the pin to let the vtec lobe on the cam to work. Jdm and Usdm motors vtec system were not made differently. you said that you hooked up a scanner to read your code and that it was not working. My question is did you hook up your scanner correctly and is your scanner working. You might want to try hooking up the paper clip and checking the codes manually on the dash with the amount of times the check light flashes and then looking up the code. Reasons for vtec not to work are, Incorrect wiring, oil pressure, oil level, oil pressure sending unit, oil pressure switch, incorrect timing , oil temp, vtec solenoid malfunction, a clog in the solenoid screen. knock sensor, Vss , and sometimes the o2 sensor on obd2 cars can affect it. My motor about a year go quit activating vtec , i could not figure it out try ed everything, finally i tore the head app-art and it turned out i had a clog in one of the oil chambers and was not creating enough pressure,
