Default Update: Azenis in Rain

Okay guys (and gals), I drove for 5 hours in the rain today (60-80 mph) on 215/45/16 Azenis' no issues to mention. The rain was light at time and extremely heavy at times, and the Azenis were very predicatable. They are definitely better than RE010s in the rain.

FYI, rears has ~ 40-50% left fronts has 60-70% (two track events, 2 autoxs, and ~5000 street miles)

I notice you're from the DC/Metro area. Are you going to use your Azenis through the winter?

Try them at 60-80 in anything other than a straight line. My slicks are fine in the rain, until I try to turn that is....

Just trying to make a point...thanks for the info.

My 205/50/15 Azenis suck in the rain... any kind of puddle isn't good... the Kumho 712s are worlds better in the wet for obvious reasons... have the Kumhos on the SC GSR and the Azenis on the ITR, both new sets... drove them both back to back in the rain this morning just to see... guess I just need a second set of wheels for rainy days

How are the Azenis on the track? Can you compare them to another tire, like the re010, or s-03? Do they let you know when they're about to break free? Good update, thanks.

Chris: that's exactly what I did, 80 in the straights, 60 in the mild turns...Route 29N from VIR to Washington D.C.

CPR: No I am not going to use them through the winter; however, with the weather we've been having, I might consider it...

Batouttahell: Azenis are decent on the track, they are street tires after all. With 5K miles ont hem, they now provide me with a lot of audio feedback (squealing). They still handle "well," but not as sticky as they were say 2K or 3K miles ago. Oh, I thing though, they do not chunk, definitely a plus.

I only have a few track events under my belt, so I'm not ready for race tires yet. But, I'd like a tire that handles a little better than the re010, and that I can use as an everyday (non-winter) tire. Good point about chunking. My re010's hold up pretty well, but if pushed hard, they chunk pretty bad.
