Ok, I just got my del sol 3 weeks ago. It's my first 5 speed. Everything always worked fine. I was going about 85 on the highway (speeding just a little) in fifth gear. It was fine for like 30 miles. Then, it didn't pop out of gear, but it sounded like it did, and it just started revving. So I just kinda shrugged and put it in fourth and went slower. That gear did the same thing. So now I'm pissed off, I pull over, and the car will only go in second and reverse. I had the car off, and tried putting it through the gears. It won't even push into the gear. I can get it in first now, but that's it. WTF?? Every car I have, something goes wrong with the tranny, and I take very good care of my cars. Anyone have any ideas???

 

clutch went out?

 

Actually, it wasn't the clutch. My gears never grinded or anything. It always shifted perfect.

 

drain your mtf, if you have alot of grit and or parts coming out with your fluid your tranny went out but I'd hope for a bad clutch.

how does the clutch pedal feel? any fluid in the reservoir?

 

The clutch feels good, and the reservoir is full. That's why I'm so baffled by this whole mess.
