why would you want the y5 over the z6? the y5 is a vtec-e (enomony) motor. they both are vtec, but the vtec-e pins a valve at a certain rpm, thus opening an extra valve per cylinder, totally different concept than the vtec on teh z6. the reason for leaving one valve closed at low rpm, is to get the perfect air, fuel mistuxe. But if ita a newer motor with less mile, keep the y5. if the z6 is a tired motor, it probably won't be as stong at the y5. from the factory the z6 only puts out 10 more HP. which would be gone if the motor is tired. Plus if you beat people in races, you are beating them with a 40 MPG car. One hint for you, get a del sol tranny and bolt it to the y5, better gears for acceration, and you will still get great gas milage. And i would drop the turbo set up into a 92-95 coupe. Depends on what you all have. is the tranny on the y5 hydro or cable, if its hydro, the 92-95 is all set up for that. Plus i just like the looks of that year coupe and hatch over a older style hatch. you will find more parts for the 92-95 coupe too. good luck.
