Shock Knock TSB
I just bought the collars to fix the shock knock, but I have a question about the install. I have read some places that you dont need to pull the entire shock assembly to replace the collars, others have said that you need to pull the whole thing.
I dont see how you could get to the collars unless you pull the whole assembly out, does anyone who has done the swap have any ideas?

ya you can do it withought replacing the whole shock/spring. jut take off the nut on the top of the shock, and take off the rubber thingy.. sorry i dont know what its called lol.. but the collar is right underneath that. i used pliers to pull it out
btw, this didnt help my shocks nock

As he said, you can just take off the nut, washer, and bushing and pull out the collar with good needle noses.
You may want to think about grinding the collar down to if it's not shorter than the old collar. I believe a lot of shock knock is caused by the bushing being permanently compressed over time so that the collar protrudes and hits the washers. You can cure this by either grinding about 2-3mm off the end of your collar or some people have added washers under the stock washer to raise it up some - make sure their is room for the collar to move up and down if you do this technique.

Awsome man thanks. I dont know if it will really fix it or not. Weird thing is mine only makes noise when its really warm out. I think it might be the end link on the sway bar more than the shocks but I figured I would start here and then move to the end link if it doesnt work.
