How do you turn the maintenance req'd light off on a 1998 Accord?

If you have your owner's manual, the exact steps are in there.

It's something like putting your key in the ignition but not turning it, pushing in the trip odometer button and holding it in, turning the key to the first position (not starting the car), and waiting five or ten seconds.

 

hold down trip reset button. turn key to "on" position (do not start). continue holding down reset button for up to 25 seconds. main't req'd light will flash, then turn off.
