Will a Mugen header for a Type-R fit on a 99 civic SI? Please help.

explain the rattle. i have a 98 Spec JDM ITR header on my 99 Si for 2 years which is basically same overall dimensions as mugen ITR header and there is no rattle. probably you ought to check and make sure everything is tight.

 

as i understand, the top will fit, but the bottom, u will need another cat. itr has 2.5 in collector and si has 2.25. just get a carsound cat, it fit nicely.

 

yes, of course use a 2.5" cat. (others have modified stock cats too)
