My motor blew, need advice
Hey guys, my D16A6 engine out of a 89 CRX Si just blew up today on the freeway. It was pretty stock, but it was in a shity condition. Right now I'm like broke, so I'm looking to swap it for something cheap right now. I don't plan to spend more than $1000, which engine should I get. Will ZC require alot modificaion, or could I still use the stock Si transmition on this eingine?
Drop in a D16z6, about the same output as a ZC and probably more reliable. If you get a z6 you'll also have to wire it up for Vtec so you're probably looking at about 100-200 bucks added onto the price of the motor when you're done.
I have a stock 1.6 si engine out of a rex, just pulled it out. Runs great, does not burn any oil. I see you live in Illinois to so there would be no shipping charges and I will cut you a good deal on it. Email me at 90blackcrx@gmail.com if you have any more questions about this engine.
If you do not want to go this route, the only other engine in I can see in your price range would be the zc engine, but even if you went with this engine, your gonna pay about 500$ for shipping charges. There are a few more engines listed here
