Default h22 in 5th gen p/s pump question

i heard that you have to modify the p/s bracket on an h22 in a 5th gen accord so that the hood will shut completely. Is this true or will i not need to modify it. i am waiting on h22 to come so that me and my friend can put it in so i would like to konw everything i need to do before i get it. i have searched, but nothing is said in any posts that ive looked at. any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

hmm that's surpising the search didn't work cause this has been discussed many times. the hood closing issue you talk about is with the 92-95 civics and H22 swaps. on a 5th gen accord i suggested using a 97-01 prelude p/s bracket and use the accord p/s pump and line.

KG is correct but might I add that P/S worthlessly takes away wheel horsepower and underhood space. A lot of people who have never used manual steering think it will be impossible, but at anything above 3 mph you won't even notice the difference, except for the fact that the car is a bit quicker and that you can actually feel what's going on at the tires. See if a friend has a manual steering vehicle and ask if you can try it out.

I used a '98 P/S Pump And Bracket, and a '98 P/S Hose, Worked Fine Didn't Have To Custom Anything,
