Default Identifying parts, and wiring questions for b16a.....

where do i add the wire to run to the ecu for oil pressure switch?


where do i add the wire to run to the ecu for the 2nd o2 sensor?


Which one is the VTEC solenoid, and where does the wire go exactly to run to the ecu?


Where do i add the wire for the knock sensor to run to the ECU?

vivid details would help if possible

yea i have that pic as well, i know where it goes into the ecu, i dont know where i install the new wires for each though

white wire in the first pic is the pressure switch goes to b5
the black wire is a ground,ground it at the thermostat housing..

vtec solenoid is the big round thing.wire goes to A8

knock sensor goes to b19
The red dot represents the wire the pic to the right shows the actual location at the plugs..

This is your VTEC oil pressure switch (B5).


This is your VTEC solenoid assembly. The grey cylinder circled in yellow is part of the VTEC solenoid. The one wire coming out from under it is your VTEC solenoid wire (A8). The part circled in red is a cam cap bolt (dont remove it), the part circled in blue is a finger.


Knock sensor (B19)


Cant make it out, need a wider angle shot.

also what gauge wires do i need? and about how long will i need of each color?

on the back of the engine..see that blue round thing? it is the oil filter..

heh im dumb, im tryna do this myself but i dont know nothing about technical stuff...so im just makin sure i know everything before i start ****** up

i used 18 gauge wire and bought 30 feet and it was enough..was like $5

No big deal.. the wiring was the part that frustrated me also..
Just make sure you hook up the o2 sensors like:

or it will run like crap..

20 gauge and 100 ft each of red white and blue...

Just use common sense and measure for yourself. How much wire u use depends on how you choose to go about getting the wire from a to b...

so you could really use any gauge wire if you wanted? its just personal preference?

Use whatever gauge is closest to stock, it varies.
