Default custom turbo setup time ! (part 1)

Well im bored out my mind and have time to figure out what i want with my turbo build.
first let me start with what I got:
B18C/ +20 over bore
JE pistons 9.8:1
crower connecting rods
crower valves
crower titanium retainers
crower dual springs
toda flywheel
act extreme clutch
vafc

thats what im dealing with now to the good stuff.
question # 1
whats is the basic size of the intercooler to fit on a 97 civic to be a good fit

question # 2
with 550 injectors and a vafc please tell me that i dont need a FMU

question # 3
the fitting for the oil pan; is it just one standard size

question # 4
if i get a t3/t4 or a t4/t3 or a sc34 will i have to change my mani for each one

question # 5
can someone tell the difference between the 38 and 44 tial wastegates

well thats all that i can think of for the moment
in the begining im looking to push around 275 then around 365 ( i know traction will be hell)

its a daily driver

#1 - depends on what you consider a good fit, and if you want to cut your bumper or not

#2 - No FMU needed

#3 depends on your oil return like. eg. you have a -10 Return line get -10 AN bung for the oil pan

#4 - sc 34 has a t3 flange on the turbine house so no need to change manifold. But why would you have 3 diff turbos?? Just get one that fits your needs. and an sc34 will. And I have never really heard of anyone using or making a t4/t3... but maybe I am wrong, just seems weird to have a huge turbine housing and a small compressor housing.

#5 - the 44 mm is bigger. It is said and suggested that if you are running smaller amounts of boost than choose the bigger wastegate due to the fact that you will be bypass more exhaust. But truthfully you wil be fine with either one. Both look tight. I think the 44 mm is a v band, which is a nice little feature.

275 is easily attainable and 365 won't even be that hard. Even on pump gas. But I was still suggest going with some sort of standalone. You'll be happy in the end. Your bout to spend quite a bit of money on you motor. plus hondata is only like another 100-150 bucks compared to a v afc!

Hope this helps. Good luck to you!

Why build your motor and run **** for management? You will be pissed when everyone makes more than you on stock motors with good management.

Not to mention that their stock motors may last longer than his built motor. .

From this question right here it seems like you wanted to use the VFAC as your fuel managment for turbo.

Evaluate your goals, budget, and willingness to learn. Then you will know which fuel management to go with Hondata, Uberdata, AEM, etc...

the reason for that is because everyone that i know that used a fmu had shitty outcomes

Well said

'Built' does not mean bullet proof.

I'm not saying you are not doing your homework or you are not willing to learn. I'm simply stating that if you are looking into a EMS you need to decide on how much your willing to spend, what features you need for your goals, and whether your want to tune it yourself.

Hence the three things you need to evaluate budget, goals, and willingness to learn the intricate details of tuning.

GL on your build
