I was having massive wheel hop problems, we today i swapped out my azenis for some regular tires and it went away. Now I just smoke the tires instead of wheel hop. Why? I already ordered new suspenion because of the wheel hop. What else could cause it? My be the tire out of balance?

azenis have more surface area, and are made of a better compound than average tires, so you had better traction. They were trying to grab but couldn't quite hold on. Your normal tires now aren't even trying ha

 

a tire with more bite will stress out the suspension more and cause wheel hop..for example my car would never wheel hop on regular tires but when I put slicks on it forget about it...would wheel hop so bad I thought my dash would break in half.
