Buying an ITR
Hi, I'm new on this broad and am looking for an ITR; however, I don't want to be scammed and get a swapped out R (I heard people replaced the cam with the SI's). If I to purchase one, how should I check, besides the internal engine componets and bring it to a mechanic, the rest of the car's (like lsd) to see if it is a legit one?
Thanks
Thanks
Simple. Get the vin number from the guy. Run a carfax report and call the WSP.
See the car in person. I know on my 1997 that each body piece...chassis, hood, trunk, doors...etc. all have a matching Honda sticker with the full vin number on it. Look for those, check the vin numbers all over the car: On the dash, firewall, inside the driver side door...etc. see if everything matches up.
Talk to the guy a few times. Asses how you feel about him and what he said, after the conversation has ended. Do you feel he was honest with you? Did he anwer your questions right away or did he hesitate? Ask the same question a different way to see if you get the same answer.

Just have the seller bust this out.
(maybe he will take of the addendum sticker with all those nasty dealer add-ons like Regional Market Adjust, damned Alaska

Some good advice there, check all the vin numbers when you go to check out the car, write them down seprately on a piece of paper and when you get home take a look and make sure they all match. This can also help out to make sure you car wasnt in a wreck and was replaced by someone elses body parts.
I completely understand where you are coming from though, one of my buddy's oo si had the original b16a2 blown and was replaced with a first gen b16...
You can never be to careful and if something feels wrong or fishy with the car then there probably is.
