Default having slugish braking...time for new brake pads?????

My braking on my accord is starting to get pretty bad. When brake fluid was added at my last oil change they worked great and now I basically have to press brake all the way in to halt to a stop. I dont think filling with more brake fluid would solve the problem. Also at high speeds 60 mph + the car shakes. So im guessing I should get the rotors turned over as well. Do you think its just a better idea to buy some new brembo blank rotors and pads? Not quite sure what to do here....

if the car shakes without pressing on the breaks, more than likely you will need to rebalance ur tires... now if it shakes while ur pressing the brakes... def need to return the rotors... maybe your master cylinder is goin out for ur breaks, have it checked out, or check it out urself. when they go bad, you can be pressing the brake, and itll keep going down like ur pushing fluid through something. you can easily check the brakes too...take off the wheels and look at em, not hard at all.

this is how you check your master cylinder. start your engine and let it idle then hold the brake paddle down if it goes down all the way. it is bad otherwise, air inside the brake system.

Is it something that my local dealership would carry or would I have to order the part online?

Yes and if you do it yourself, http://www.tasauto.com sells the hardware. Don't forget about bleeding the brakes. Best to have a brake shop or dealership do it.

Why?? If you have about 2 hours and a couple metric wrenches you can do it yourself for about 1/2 the price. (for the master cylinder)

IS your pedal going to the floor?

If your brakes are just shaking upon braking then it sounds like you need to get your rotors honed and pads replaced.

Make sure you have a chiltons/helms/haynes manual close by .

It would also be a good idea to have your fluid changed. Brake fluid absorbs water. Water is bad.

Several reasons... first, it didn't appear or sound like this person would want to do it, based on the level of questioning, second, not everybody wants to or cares to do it themselves.

Before you go and replace parts you may not need to I would do the following:

Get rotors honed down
Check wear on pads and replace
bleed the system

IF the problem of the pedal going to the floor persists then it is your master cylinder.

Are you planning on doing your own brake job or paying someone? Do you have 4 wheel disc or front disc rear drum?

I plan on paying someone for that I dont have the skills nor do I want to mess anything up. Its a front disc and rear drum brake setup....
