A shifter does not ruin a trans, the driver does. Anyways the only one that will not fit is the civic one, the ball is to at the bottom. You can make it fit with a little bit of work but just stick with the one for the crx or teg.

I am running the neuspeed one on that exact same combination.
I do not have any trouble with it, no grinding and it is not difficult to shift.

I simply shortened mine stock shifter( cut it off with a hacksaw and used an aftermarket ****) with my b16a and y1 transmission. I've compared this setup to other generic short shifters in B16a EF's and my setup is much better. Also I'm using the polyurethane shift bushings, this made a huge difference.
So my advice is to shorten your shifter yourself manually if you really have to and definitely use the poly shift bushings.
No short shifter.

the shaft of the shitfer gets bigger as it goes down so how much did u cut off and do you just re-tap it? also where do u get polyurethane bushings? and where do you put them? the bottom of the shifter at the linkage?

This does nothing as far as the throw goes, it only less ins the height of the shifter. So yours is a short shifter but not a short "throw" shifter.

i have 88 crx/b16 and i got place mounts/shift linkage and when i tried to install a skunk2 short shifter it would change the geometry of the linkage and it wouldnt work, the linkage would touch and wouldnt go into any gear...that sucks cuz that was a nice shifter.so i did like that other dood did and just cut an inch or so off of my stock shifter..not as good as a real short shifter but hey its better than nothing..anyone with place racing mounts and shift linkage with an aftermarket ss that works?
well to answer your question you just get a short shifter thats for your car. if you have a 90 crx si, then just get that one. people who say you need a different shifter because you have a different trans/engine are wrong. i have a b16 with a s1 tranny in my car and an ebay 10 dollar shifter and bushings and it works great.
