Need help with smog "test only"
My registration is up and i have to go to a test only station
i have no idea what i have to do... the car is a 91 civic si with jdm b16a.
is there any way i can get this to smog at a test only?
What exactly do they do at a test only station? TIA

It means they can only test the car, not repair it. It's also nearly impossible to do find someone to do a side job, so you have to do it legitly.
CA law requires stations to do a free pre test. Ask for a pre test(if the staion offers it) and if he doesn't say anything about B16 then go ahead and have it smogged there. If the smog tech notices it take it elsewhere until the tech doesn't notice it. Alot of times they won't know the difference. What mounts you have is usually the only giveaway(checking the engine ID is looke over 9 out of 10 times). If worst come to worst have it reffed. You can have the B16a reffed because their is a US counterpart (b16a2,a3). Hope this helps. BTW, I used to work at a smog station in NOR CAL.

Al's 5th&E shell, J&P auto, Mizzles auto and I believe Cecils auto. These are in Marysville, CA
Yuba plaza shell, PJ's, and, RonCO. These are in Yuba City
All of these shops should offer the free pre test.
