i've dealt with kevin and frankie and the kansai guys before. they were always really nice to me, gave me decent prices on parts and service. the guys know their stuff. it's worth the trip out, if anything to see a couple JDM ITRs, DC2 and DC5.
as for if i'd give their recommendation... well... i've not been in the seattle area long, so i'm not sure what else is out there, but i can definitely say i've had good experience with them.
if you do go: it'll help if you speak chinese. it's one of those shops run by a couple guys and then alllll their friends stop in and hang out etc. your experience might be different than mine... they may have been more excited to see a girl R owner who tracked her caR more than anything.

They are ******s. Sorry for the harse words but they don't know shiet. They are all rich kids that do this for a hobby.
They might have learned a few things but way back then they had no clue what "OEM" or "stock" parts meant.
Also treated me like shiet

They have nice cars, but I have not been impressed by any of their work.
There are a bunch of people who can offer better quality of service than any shop in the area, people like Josh (Blind Fashion), myself, and many others.

Rather than just calling names you'd make your point better if you provided some anecdotes that explain your opinions.

i actually met those guys last week. my store is down the road and they rolled up in their dc5r. anyway, they seem cool and have a decent shop. however, i don't think i'd get any work done from them just because they're just regular dudes with money. i'd maybe buy stuff and check out their cars.
Who the *** are you quick6, do you like stickers and body kits? I am adding a valid opinion to this thread. Did I not explain why I do not trust them?
They also did something that NO business person should do. They made a very personal verbal comment on my family over $300.
I do not have to explain, most of the other comments seem to concur with with fact that they are "rich kids" who are doing this for a hobby. No passion for the game = shitty job.
Hmmm import alot of JDM cars, put lotta Kansai stickers on them, enter them into shows. Wow lotta sweat. Show me some cars with some serious work done and some dyno charts. Then I will give props.

Who am I? I own a JZA80 Supra and an AE86 devoted to road racing. I could give a **** about stickers and body kits. You won't find a single non-functional part on any of my cars (except the Razo sticker my girlfriend put on the Supra as a joke).
Who are you? All that I've seen from you is some ignorant/inflammatory language followed with a couple vague mutterings about why you don't care for these guys.
I'm interested in hearing what kind of problems you've had with them. So far what I can gather is that you don't like them because:
- they have money
- they "had no clue what "OEM" or "stock" parts meant"
- they said something you don't like when you owed them $300... ?
So do you have an actual technical gripe with the work they do? I don't want to recommend them to anyone if they have indeed screwed up.
I put my Supra in the gravel at the track and had rocks in the beads of a tire -- they were nice enough to dismount and remount the tire for me at no cost. No easy feat on an 18x11.5" rim.
Frankie and Kevin are good guys.

you know you like the razo bling.
well, i'm sorry to hear that other ppl have had bad experience with kansai.
for me, they dropped everything they were working on on a long weekend and pulled a few all nighters so that i could have my car ready for the track that week when i needed work done. they mounted and balanced a new set of tires for me for 20 bucks. unmounted and mounted quick's for free after said track day and let us borrow shop space & tools in a pinch.
they've offered to hook me up with tires & r-compounds for half of what they go for anywhere else, and have extended this to friends of mine. likewise on parts for cost.
i'm not sure why they would insult your family over 300$ unless you weren't paying them. 'cause for me, they were totally flexible about how and when i paid them back for labour and didn't fuss at all when i needed extra time.
so customer service has been great in my experience
the guys at kansai have always come through for me. maybe emerika is better, i just have not had anything done there, maybe i'll look into it for next time.

"what are your guys experiences..do they do good installs, and hows customer service n all that?"
Lol ur a *** dude. The thread was about experiences with Kansai. I stated mine and you question me. Learn to deal with the fact that others could possibly have had horrible experiences with them.
I have, my brother has, multiple buyers on groupbuycenter.com have, and friends of mine have. I am only stating my experience with them.
Who gives a **** what you drive? I asked who u were to question the validity of my opinion, not what u drive.
- I said they are spoiled kids
-not having any clue what oem or stock means is not a good thing when u work in the auto industry
-I never said I owed them anything.
Get a ******* clue. Who is ignorant.
Does it have to be techincal to be a gripe? They have serious customer service issues. Again maybe they treated ur *** good "possibly" because you drive an expensive car over my POS. Who knows.
Either way no reason to jump on my opinion just cause yours is different.

So let's hear about these bad experiences. I want to hear the details of what these guys (who have been stand-up with me and my friends) have done to you such that you call them and me "******s". That's all I'm looking for, friend: a little explanation and story.
So far I have seen none of it -- just name-calling.

No -- you said "Who are you?". I gave you a little information about me so that you knew I wasn't full of ****.
And for the record I didn't question the validity of your opinion. I merely asked for the reasons for your opinion.
I'm still interested in hearing them as well.

I didn't jump on your opinions because mine are different -- all I asked for is a little proof to back up the "******s" comments that you made and you haven't been forthcoming with any kind of proof. You have just resorted to name-calling.
Please edify us all and tell us about your bad customer experience -- you haven't explained anything about what went wrong with them.
If you have something legit to say then I seriously want to hear it. As far as I can tell it seems like all you're here to do is bag on someone with homophobic rhetoric rather than talk tech or reality.
And as for me being a ***... I suggest you grow up and get past the 3rd-grade insults. It just makes you look ignorant.

Emerika is the homie.
BTW, although i stated that i would not take my car there to be serviced, it is because i only trust my car in certain places. i went there though and they showed me around and offered cheap parts/service. also, they invited me to a track day that they are planning to have so i see them as harmless.
