Default Exhaust Install

How hard is it on a 5th gen? I have a EVO 2 exhaust sitting in my garage for about 6 months now. Im not very mechanically inclined so I dont know if I wanna do it or not. Im scared my car will fall off the jackstands and crush me lol. So what tools do I need and how long does it take? Can a newbie do it?

it takes one socket. i want to say 9/16, maybe 14mm. maybe a break bar cuz the bolts are prob rusted. as long as you are on good ground, the jackstands will be fine. there are only 3 bolts you have to deal with, on the back of the cat. it's a triangle shaped flange. disconnect the hangers and just pull the whole thing out. might want a friend to help with that. once you get under there, it should make sense.

it is really very is. i just put a skunk2 exhaust on my car. i suggest you try to find a place where you can use a lift, but jack stands will work. all you need tool wise is an air compressor, an impact gun, an extension, and a 14mm socket. take out the three nuts around the catalyic converter, and the two nuts around the end of the back peice of the exhaust, and tryin to take it off the hangers is a little hard, but use a screw driver and just pry it out, it should all just fall down. then all you do is place the new exhuast on piece by piece. but since you have a greddy, which i think comes with a hi flo cat, you just go ahead, and take off the stock cat too.. its really easy, it took me about an hour, only cause the hangers where a real bitch to get off

I dont have an air compressor will I still be able to do it? Looks like the only tools I'll need are a 14 mm socket, breaker bar, and maybe some WD-40? Once you get under the car is it pretty easy to see where all the bolts and everything are?

P B BLASTER is the best! Spray on before you try turning the nuts and they will come off easy! but yes all you need is a wrench and jackstands! very easy to do

you will also need a good prying device like a long flathead screwdriver....the rubber hangers are a bitch!

make sure your car is steady on the jackstands before you get under it.....give it a good shake before you get down there.....and i will reccomend PB Blaster that stuff works good.....we proved it doing work on my brothers 88 chevy k5....there was more rust on that truck than you would believe.....anyway, be careful and be sure to check your stands....good luck
