Default Anyone here get a tranny or part's from Gearspeed? socal

I took a deep glance into H-T's new sponsor which is Gearspeed, in CAli. I live in the midwest so I wouldn't exactly be able to go and visit their shop, but I was curious if anyone has purchased tranny's from them, or spools, or LSD's... or anything from them.. and I was curious how their product's were... any info would be great thanx.

I just got my tranny rebuilt by them. If you send your tranny to them, it will recieve a ton of attention. They assign one builder to each tranny from teardown to rebuild. Excellent quality control and attention to detail. Best part is that they use original Honda parts only. Even the bolts (if damaged) will be replaced with new ones.

i've been trying to find prices for their stuff, but they have none on their site, and none of their so called dealers even list their parts on their sites.

i've seen trannies from their sister co. which rebuilds trannies for regular street cars. they look brand spanking new except for the used core casing. from what i remember, the street stuff has a really good warranty too. i think the sister co. which started the whole thing, is owned by an ex-honda tech.

gear speed seems to know their ish and they have some awesome options for building trannies.

We also have Brand new ITR transmissions as well. They are on National Backorder with American Honda. Three in stock! If you think the price is too much just think about the time and $$$ that goes into these transmissions. ie shipping to and from:$200, LSD around $800-900, Sleeve sets if needed(most of the time!) 250-300 each!, Bearings and seals OEM, $200. Case polishing or finishing $200. Carbon synchros $100 Oh, have we mentioned any labor yet??Nuff said . If you can get a used Japanese ITR than go for it, used being the key word. They aren't stupid in Japan. They beat on their cars if not harder than we do. It's a type R. Its taken a beating and its got mileage.

syncro's + labor = easily over a grand in most cases i believe...

sometimes you would like to know that you have brand new syncro's/gears than a used one.
