Yet another P28 Hondata / chip question!!
I was hoping to get some suggestions on possible engine management solutions.
Current crap:
H22A intake/exhaust, stock P13 w/ IAB's running off IM vacuum
I have a Hondata st. 3 with a socketed P28 sitting right here. Problem is, the eeprom currently has a map tuned for a boosted 1.6 w/ 450cc injectors
Would it be adviseable to get another chip for the P28 while I wait for the eprom programmer (quite a while) and eventual dyno tuning? Hondata tuners are far and away from here :/ Plus I need to return the P13 to a friend...
Are the JDM ****, Mugen, and stock H22A programs "compatible" with Hondata... that is, as far as the 3-step, datalogging, and static rev limiter setting (mainly launch control and VTEC). I've been reading the pgmfi forums lately, but I'm not 100% clear on this.
ps- yes, I've searched and read through quite a few threads...
Any help is greatly appreciated
Adi

I'm pretty sure that as long as the ECU is socketed then you can stick in whatever 'chip' you want. Thats the way it is with Uberdata (look into it)
Not sure what your thinking about with the IAB off of vacuum??

The IAB butterflies are hooked up to intake manifold vacuum and open after 40% throttle or more.
I've read about Uberdata but it's not compatible with Hondata. The slot is there and any chip can be inserted, BUT I'd lose 3-step and datalogging functionality.
Is anyone able to burn basemaps for H22A HOndata?

I guess you could hook it up to vacuum and manually operate the throttle butterfly under the hood to see for yourself. The IAB in this case won't be an on/off switch, but rather, it will open progressively with IM vacuum.
