Default What to do with tranny

I am debating doing 2 different things when i replace my clutch. When I do it i will be replacing the clutch, flywheel and installing an itr lsd with the jdm FD. With the parts I will be going with exedy clutch, toda fly it comes to $1,124.83 including shipping and thats not calculating the cost of an itr lsd off ebay they run from 2-$400 then there is the install+labor added to that price i know it probably will reach 2g's or real close to that. Here comes the 2nd alternative. i could just buy a 98spec r tranny I know a guy on ebay who i bought my steering wheel and seats from who always has a tranny up for $1100 plus 200 for ship or so. so would it be a better deal just to get the jdm tranny since it has the lsd and FD already installed then just add the clutch and fly it will approach 2g's also but minus having my car gone for a day for installation of the FD if i stuck w/ my tranny. i guess i could deal with the even closer gears of the itr. plus i could sell my tranny for some $$ and that will lessen the cost. So what would you guys do.

I'd do the work and keep your tranny. You will have a better built tranny with the parts you are putting into it, and you know the history of it.

Buy the ITR tranny from a reputable person. I would also recommend getting the J4D ITR tranny (98 and up) because it has the 4.785 final drive you are looking for (I think) and the lsd. You will never be able to sell your tranny for 2g's if you wanted to sell it...the ITR one holds it's value (unless abused or having the appearance of being abused).

ohh yea i know i could never sell a tranny for 2g's i was saying that buying the jdm itr tranny and all the parts would total 2g's but i could sell my stock one and lessen the total cost.
