Hmm, I just ordered a Spoon battery too, so, I imagine that I will have the same problem as you. What if you went to a stereo shop and got one from there. I don't know if they would have one that is small enough or not.

Let me know what comes of this.

i know when i got my JDM engine, the harness had the JDM battery clamps on it. Might look around for someone that has one laying around im sure someone has it, i think i still have mine. The positive side is about the same size as a US negative and the negative is smaller. HTH

Other than some weight savings (and the JDMness of it all) what are the advantages fo the Spoon battery?

Would purchasing a race battery (such as Spoon) be practical for daily usage? I mean, logically the batteries will have fewer cells to reduce the weight. Thefore, the amount of charge in the battery (without the motor running) must be a lot less than OE sized batteries correct? If that's the case then all it's really good for is to start the car, NOT to power any type of accessories while the car isn't running.

I'm probably totally off-base...

If I recall, the Spoon battery is 13.7 lbs, versus 21 lbs for the stock battery. The 7 lbs weight saving costs $400 or so. Unless one were competing at a national level, the cost/performace ratio would be hard to justify. Of course, it is nice to have new toys!
