Car wont rev past 7500????
Well guys I was thinking that its pretty safe to try to hit VTEC now, because Ive been breaking the motor in pretty well and today when I do it, the car seems to be doing fine, its pulling and then it hit 7500rpm, and it seemed to bounce off the rev limiter, I dont know what it could be, it has a 93 GS-R ecu that my friend had in his car and he says that it revved to 8200 all day, what could be going wrong with mine the reason that its only getting to 7500 and cutting out????? Please help guys....
does the car have any kind of after market stuff haveing to do with the distrubtor
i had same problem but didnt go past 6500 had something to do with my sci ing.

Limp mode. Is your CEL light on? There may be a problem with your VTEC solenoid...what setup are you running? If I remember correctly, the 93 GSR's used a secondary butterfly in the IM that switches over at a certain point. If you are running this ecu in a car without those butterfly's in the IM, then you may have thrown a code. I could be wrong though

Yes, you are. The B17a doesnt have a dual runner manifold. Limp mode typically restricts the car MUCH earlier than 7500 rpm as well. I would say its the wrong ECU.

Yea guys I had it fixed the same night actually, I was getting on the hwy and decided to get into it for a second, and the car bogged at 7500 again and the CEL came on, so I took it to the guy that did the swap and it came up as a code 22, VTEC pressure switch, or something. Well we were putting one on and all of a sudden, while twisting it in, the casing cracked, but he happened to have a JDM full VTEC solenoid, and he put that on, it fixed the problems, its cool too, made the VTEC scream a little louder but I like it, thanks for your help though guys...
