I installed it today. As usual there were some nice problems that arose during the install (the top bolt on the cat rounded off), but after a few hours it is now on.

I drove it home without the baffle. My gosh, the thing is simply too loud. It's like taking a fire engine, and keeping the siren on full blast all the time right next to your ear. I had to hold my rear-view mirror just to make it stop vibrating.

With the baffle installed is a different story. Through most of the RPM range I can hear my CAI over the exhuast...it's much quieter.

My only question now is, where can I pick up one of those locks that is a bolt. It's like a straight lock. I need it to prevent someone stealing the baffle

 

if you wanted a quiet exaust, may i ask why did you buy the rm? hehe, anyways, try looking at someplace like homedepot for a locking bolt

 

sorry this is a stupid question, but is the baffle like a silencer for the N1?

 

yes its like a silencer.

It'll get quieter over time. You have to "burn in" the muffler packing. In a few weeks it will tone down a bit.

 

it won't tone down if anything it gets louder, cause the high rpms blow the baffles out! mine is loud as ****, almost annoying some times. people think i'm trying to race when i'm just tooling around town
