Got my SMSP header... damn nice
I ordered a SMSP B20VTEC header back in March and today i finally received it. Dave's work is flawless and now I just hope it performs as well as it looks (but we already know it does
).
The design is somewhat different from the his normal B20VTEC header because my CRX EE8 does not have much space between the OEM front cross member and the block. Right now I use a JG header and the clearence in fine with that design so we tried to do something like that just alot better.

Sweet, what I've seen already is that he uses the best matarial out there. His weld is like perfect if you look at it very closed.
Post your engine setup and your dyno sheet when you get done.
I like reading dyno sheets

yes i thought it looked a lil different other then being short it doesnt have the odd primary setup like the others i seen. hmm

The quality of the header is 10 times better thant the OEM ITR header I just bought (I got the real one, not the $149 knock off). I really like how smooth the collector is.

Dave's SS headers is about $1250 but that's not bad compared to what you get. Dave told me Tbone have tested a prototype header with this ground design and it was within a few Hp from his normal B20VTEC header. Tbone would you mind giving some more insight on this?
Sorry guys there will not be a test between the SMSP and JG with IB 2.5" collector because I have a long trip to my tuner and I just want to tune the final setup. The SMSP header is longer so the exhaust will have to be modified.
I'm still waiting for the head parts to arrive but it has all been send. The final setup will be this:
B20B3 block bored/honed to 85 mm.
IB Spec Wiseco 11.8:1 pistons
Probe Industries Ultra Light rods
Hondata B16A heatshield
RLZ Stage2 B16A head
RPM Service 72 MM TB
IB Spec RLZ intake manifold
3" short ram with vel. stack at the end
IB Spec cams
IB Spec valvetrain
IB Spec valves
Ad. cam gears
SMSP B20VTEC header
3" Carsound cat
3" Thermal cat back
7 lbs Clutch Masters flywheel
ACT 6 puck clutch with extreme pressure plate
B&M fpr.
Hondata S200 with P28 ECU
Wide band lambda

in no way is this anyway negative or hateful, but why would it take 5-6 months to get a header?

Well I was on the waiting list and in May Dave told me I was up next. We had to make measuremets etc. to make this header fit in my enigne bay so I think it have taken longer for Dave to make this compared to if he could use his normal design. Plus I live in Denmark and there has been some shipping time. The header was finished late Juli so it's not Dave's fault. I got the header shipped to IB so I could get some parts from there and save money on shipping.

The build quality looks good. But with its rather convention design (short-tube 4-2-1 with 4-1,2-3 primary pairing), I would not expect for it to perform as well as their long tube header. Still, it would be interesting to see how it performs compared to an inexpensive DC JDM 4-1.
First off, the header I tested was a shorty like yours. But it was for a 2.1ltr engine which made it way to big for even my motor.. I have a plot, but have to see if Dave wants it posted. It did very well and untunned was only off in the midrange really. Peak was allmost the same.
