Everytime i close my driver side door when the window isnt completely dlosed it makes a huge rattling noise, does anybody know what it is?

 

mine does the same thing. Passenger side is fine, driver side rattles and if I hit a big bump I can hear it rattle sometimes. I looked at all the papers the previous owner gave me and apparently there was some warranty work done on that window motor, I have no clue whether this is related but yeah. It is very annoying cause it makes the car seem much cheaper than it is

 

There's a rubber strip inside the door itself, on the window track, that has become dislodged, take off the door panel and glue it back up into place. It's a very common thing to happen with our tegs.

 

interesting... where is this at? in the door running parallel with the sill?

 

it runs vertically down the latch side of the door and the window slides down in its groove.

i was just about to post that,and i"ll be puttig mines back on again today cause it fell of again yesterday..

 

Well I don't know what's up with mine, mine makes the same huge rattling noise if it is partially open when I close the door, but the rubber strip is exactly where it should be, in that vertical track.

Hey thanks for the link to that right up azure im gonna try and fix it in a few days when im free ill tell u how it turns out

 

definitly a nice thing to get around to fixing. it's like getting that itch on your back scratched. haha. i had my doorpanel off and i found that rubber thing in there. i was like, what's this? and i threw it away so i had to buy a new one. doh!

make sure you use weather stipping cement. you can get it at pep boys, autozone, whatever.

 

I have the same problem. It only occurs on my driver side. The passenger side is fine though.

yeh i just fixed mine again over the weekend and it will still rattle a lil when the windows open a lil,i just open it a lil more or close it all the way,guess its just something to live with ...
