Looking for some help from fellow H-T people. My buddy is looking at buying a used 1991 NSX with 93,000km (I'm in Canada). Anything in particular he should be looking at or worried about with that year? Timing belt and waterpump were recently done. Thanks in advance.
The only thing that you really need to look out for is a tranny issue that some of the 91's had. You have to check the vin # and the tranny # to see if it falls into the snap ring range. Even some of the cars that were IN the sanp ring range weren't actually bad. The factory cut the groove in the upper tranny case a little too deep allowing the countershaft to shift back and forth when shifting. This eventualy caused the snap ring to break and thus potentially damaging the gears in the tranny.
I'd have one in a heartbeat even if it were in the snap ring range.
