Default if you think your car is clean...

try taking out the seats to and find just what is in there

before

i honestly didnt know that much crap could congregate in such a small place

AFTER

two bottles of upolstry cleaner, a large towel and half a bottle of windex and the car is clean inside.

i found more sockets, frito's from the ex's kid, and spilled soda spots then ever imagined.

take your interior out and lets see it!!

if i was a dirty bastage i would have left it like that. instead i took all the interior and cleaned it.

rarely does it ever get dirty.

Hey Doug, I actually did the SAME EXACT thing with my car. I pull out all of the seats, rear panels, etc. except for the dash.

I am about to clean the floor board, lay down Dynamat THROUGHOUT the interior, and steam clean the carpet. I already cleaned the seats, treated the center console, lubed the shifter cables, and fixed my stereo setup.

My car is a 92 so you can imagine what it looks like. I found that the previous owner spilled Coke where the emergency brake is.

Plus, I was able to find $0.75 underneath the carpet.

I will post before and after pics.

hehe,
I found under my seats some German money, a lot of broken glass (even if I thought I vacuumed my car well after the break-in), some screws, some parts missing in the oher areas of car and a lot of dirt...
It's clean now

I bought my 93 Si from a punk kid that trashed the car BAD. It had a blown engine, no bumpers, no hood stay, no battery, no intake or exhaust, half if the interior. I had the driver's seat and half of the interior carpet. He cut it down the middle for some reason. But i fixed the interior with a new to me carpet that I cleaned and a new passenger seat.

All things considered It was still a steal at $250 for the car and I restored the interior for $400 and did a H22 swap. Haha I must have found like $4.50 in change too. I think I have about a total of $4000 in my car not bad for a decent condition 4th gen. I need a paint job though.

But your interior is still NICE. congrats.

NICE!! How much did you pick your car up for??

I kind of did the same thing. When I bought my car, it needed a new clutch, timing belt, water pump, axles, tires, brakes, ENTIRE exhaust, radiator, a repair to the passenger side headlight, 4WS issue, AC didn't work, and windshield.

Funny thing is the guy actually took care of the car. The engine ran (still does) GREAT!!! It had ALL of the records for it, no rust, and the interior was in GREAT shape (aside from being dirty).

I fixed the headlight myself, had a new clutch and axles installed (wanted to wait until I did the H22 swap...but oh well), replaced the brakes (I was going to do that anyway), exhaust (I was going to do that anyway), tires (I was going to do that anyway), fixed the 4WS issue (thanks to wstef on this site), replaced the radiator (didn't mind doing that), bought a newer AC compressor (hope it fixes my AC issue), had a new windshield installed ($175..not bad).

Since the timing belt, water pump, and downpipe still need replacing, I decided to just do the H22 swap. Should be swapped in soon. I tried to do the H22 swap before the clutch needed chaging but it couldn't wait.

Overall, I am VERY happy with the outcome. With the EL guages, cleaned interior, and Dynamat, the car should run just like it did when it was new.

Now all it could use is a paint job but it still looks good for its age.

well the confusing thing was, there was a bunch of wires connected to them and they run under the carpet... I dunno its kinda scary I think ill stay away from them.

I also found a couple of pennys....

looking more closely at your pictures, I see that you have an electric tooth brush, a empty pack of reds, and duct tape... I cant imagine what you do in your free time.

guess you just like things that go in your mouth or over it.

Golden rule: there is no car project without duct tape. Even cleaning.

my favorite part about cleaning my interior is finding change. It feels like im getting paid to clean my own car! I also like finding screws that i had been looking for

i know this is not about a lude, but before the lude i had a pickup that i bought at a police auction. the whole truck was trashed from the search i guess, seats cut, dash taken off, door panels, ect... apparently they didnt search it as well as they thought cuz when i went to put new carpet down, there was a box mounted flush with the floor under the pass seat that was about 1/2 cubic foot or so that still had a few bags of weed in it. nothing huge, bout 2 oz by my guess. still, craziest thing i ever found cleaning out a car! my lude stays clean tho. only my old license tags under driver's seat, prob some change too. rule: no one eats in my car.

I gave the kid $100 for the shell and another $100 for the title and paid $50 to get it registered. So I only paid $250 for my car. But man did it need work. Still does need work but I still cannot beat the price.
