itr pistons in gsr
anybody know what the clearance is between the piston and quench area with u.s. itr pistons in a gsr motor with a single layer head gasket? i've heard that the piston will likely hit the quench area of the combustion chamber since they are blocked off on a gsr head.

They will work. I have a 94 GSR motor with US ITR standard bore pistons,Mugen thin layer headgasket and Civic type-r cams. I have no problems with clearence. Hope this helps.
did you have the motor clayed? and if so what were the clearances? how long have you been running this set up. thanks for the info.

All I did was put the parts on, no problems. I think the compression is around
11.1-11.5, runs fine on pump gas. 6months old, 6,000 miles. Mods are 94 GSR motor,US ITR pistons, Mugen thin head gasket,CTR cams,ITR intake springs,GSR
intake springs on exhaust side, Skunk-2 intake manifold,DC header.
