Seeing the pictures of the CW ITR from Seattle today was truly agonizing. A damn shame something like that could happen to an ITR. I hope the people who did get what they deserve.

And that got me thinking, people here post and discuss things freely, where they are from, where they go to the track, pics of their cars, which performance shop they use, etc. Seems to me like some of this info could be helpful for scumbag thieves and other ****-ups to attempt to track our cars down, if they're reading these boards. Should we keep our profiles a little lower, and not reveal too much or am I paranoid? It's just that the pics of that CW ITR is the worst I've seen done to an ITR.

I think it should be a rule not to discuss those things. The criminal element is everywhere. On the opposite side of the spectrum - there are also very likely cops lurking on this board. Keep yer **** tight.

Should we let these crooks stop us from interacting the way we do? I say no! If so we should give in to other things that change are everyday life, like flying in a plane headed to New York. If they want your car they don't need this sight to get it.

 

they don't need need this sight, but thieves are a little more technically specialized nowadays.

I've said it before and its almost too coincedental, they are stealing type R's cause you post where you are from, where you hang out, etc, mods..

IF you don't have a garage I wouldn't even consider buying an R.

 

If that was the case I think more members cars would go missing. I think the majority of thefts occur when a thief spots an R and follows it home.

 

That's true, but I still don't think it's a good idea to post a lot of stuff here. I removed my last name and location from my HT stuff because I'm really getting paranoid.
