Hondata
Ok...never really understood the purpose or the function of hondata.....just knew that it was a better map forthe Ecu. so can someone tell me the function or purpose of Hondata.
hondata is a chip, kinda like a mugen or jun chip, that is like a vafc but has more tuning points. correct me if im wrong anyone, but hondata allows the tuner to access all of the information from a motor, including timing, fuel/air ratios, etc.. and allows the tuner to change and modify these things for more power. basically, it is a program that links to a lap top and gives the tuner a look at 256 points of air/fuel ratios so that he can change them for better power and better gas mileage.
it is a chip programmed for YOUR motor to give you the best possible power and reliability.
not only that, but it is the ****.

I am a die hard uberdata fan (hell uberdata made me 303whp and 270wtq on a stock LS) but uberdata and hondata are on the same level...
Whats your set up? if you are a stock car or just i/h/e dont waste your money. If you are boosted or have a build AM car then do uberdata or hondata. BTW the hondata IM gasket kicks *** so i hear....helps hold temps down...

go to http://www.hondata.com read up on their site then go to http://www.uberdata.com check out their stuff. make a decision for yourself after you do a search on HT for this information or even google it.
if you just want to squeeze a few more out of your i/h/e then get a vafc. but if you have forced induction or No2 or fully built then go with a fuel management.
uberdata is free...you just buy the chip to burn and install it in your ecu. (if Im wrong correct me)
hondata has a lot in packing and material that you pay a pretty price for...but it has its own list of goodies that can be user friendly.
AEM EMS is expensive but totaly plug and play.
do alittle searching instead of waiting for a reply that you like. it'll pay off.

ur right...searching does help..SOMETIMES! there have been numerous accounts where I have searched h-t and other honda forums and couldnt find what I was looking for. right now it is a stock d16z6, planning on buying a longblock and doing internals on the side, that way i can still use my car. but I do plan on boosting it.

agreed. hondata use to have the advantage over uberdata due to the fact that uberdata didn't have datalogging capabilities yet, but now i would say they're just about on the same level.

i would say for hte average person hondata is a much better package...sicne ti doesnt require any thikning to go to a dealer and ahve them tune. if you are someone who likes a completely hands on approach try uberdata or Crome (i prefer crome) and tune your own car...
