people seem to use a ring of electrical tape or a zip-tie on the shifter underneath the boot, at the hight you want it to sit at.

no special tricks, just put a small Zip tie under the boot on the shifter itself.

BTW.... Honda sells a special part for the S2000 to hold up the shiftboot...

When I asked for this part... do you know what they gave me???

A ZIP TIE! in a authentic Honda bag with an authentic part #
NO JOKE this is real!!! you want to know what they were asking for it??? 5 bucks.

Save yourself the trouble, just buy a zip tie yourself for less than 5 cents and do the same thing

Just curious...Is the boot long enough when the shifter is in 4th gear?

I think the skunk2 shifters are the same length as the OEMs. ????

nah, if u had a skunk2 shortshifter uw ould know it is thin as hell to the bottom of the 2nd bend and the ring dont grab the top.

edit: yea the skunk2 shortshifter is same size as a stock one so it sits in the same place etc. but you can feel a difference. its great.

you can pull the shift boot from that plastic collar thing. No need to pull the shift console. An alternative to zip tie is a washer if you want the shift boot to sit tight.

how is the locknut supposed to work. I bought a used skunk2 **** and shifter. I installed shifter long time ago, but never put on the ****, because I didn't get the nut w/ it. So, how are you supposed to put it on there? Call me stupid.
