Speedo works 1/2 the time?
i just noticed today, that sometimes when i start moving from a stop the speedo remains at 0, no matter what the speed. but if i accelerate quickly it suddenly starts to work. this only happened a few times, i think it only happened from engine off to moving, not while stopped at a light or anything ( i don't remember for sure) im a little lost on this so any help is appreciated

This sounds like simply a loose wire behind your guage cluster. Fix it if you want but just think... As long as your speedo works half the time, so does your odometer... Half the miles when you finally sell the car!!!

Alright bitch, I have the same problem on mine and refuse to fix it for the simple fact that the odometer only reads when the speedometer reads.

i had the same problem with mine... it is the speedo that reads the miles. the odometer wouldn't spin when i just sat at 0. but i just bought a new one. it's straight now. yessir. but at the time, people were telling me it was the speed sensor. so it wouldn't hurt to get that checked out as well.

actually i believe pyrojeff is right because i just reset my trip meter last night and it is currently at 5.4mi but w.e
back on track, i think it is the gage or cable cus on the freeway when i put it in cruise it keeps its speed so its not the vss(vehicle speed sensor), at least thats what I've read

While it may not appear to add mileage, once it is hooked up correctly again it will add in the mileage over time.

As long as the VSS isn't hooked up it wont add miles to the odometer.
