Can I get some advice or any pointers about my setup??
Ok, right now I'm currently running a gsr swap in a eg hatch. With that setup, I'm running a Skunk2 manifold, Erick's Racing chipped p72 ecu, with I/H/E...I've saved up enough for either a port/ polish job with new valvetrain....or cams with new valvetrain....
The reason why I'm leaning towards the port polish and new valve train is that i can install the new valvesprings and retainers when the head is off the block after its been finished getting p n p, because if i were to do the cams with new valvetrain, i'm going to have to take the head off anyways. So that's why I was gonna just do the pnp now and get cams later so since the valvetrain is already install, i won't have to undo the head twice.
What do you guys think? Also is it going to be worth it to have it port/polished?
Also, would it be a ok to run jdm itr pistons with a thinner head gasket, not sure who makes em and how thin, and also have the head milled down so that the compression will be around 12-12.5:1??? Would this be safe? Would there be a significant gain in hp with the itr pistons installed?
Is it possible to use the ctr pistons instead of the itr? Is there any modification needed or is it as easy as just replacing the pistons?
I'm thinking about the port polish for sure and having the head milled down, and a thinner head gasket for higher compression, would it be worth it to have the pistons installed? Any suggestions on how much the head should be milled down without the itr pistons and with would be great, and also which head gasket you recommend would be great also....
Let me know if I need to give more info or anything and thanks in advance
