what is a resonable price for a 94 or a 95 gsr engine. im not sure if its a 94 or 95 but it has like 50k miles on it. also is there a difference between 95-95 and the 96-up engines. isnt one like b17 and the other b18 or someting?? thanks

 

your looking at around 3k for a used motor

b17a's are the 92-93 gsr's

b18c1's are 94 and up

 

Yup. 94 - 95 are OBD1. 96-99 are OBD2. 00-01 are OBD3.

hm...under my steering wheel column it says equipped with OBD II

 

94-95 GSR is OBD1 $3k-$3500
96-99 GSR is OBD2 $3400-$4000
2k-01 GSR is OBD2.5 $3400-$4000

OBD3 is on the 02 cars for the GSR, 01 Civic's, etc......

Whoa, $3K. For a stock gsr engine? I can get an ITR engine for under 2k. Quite a bit of salvage yards have fairly new gsr engines for under 750 dollars

 

Hell if you can find me an ITR engine for under 2k your the fuggen man! And the slavage yards that carry the GSR engines for cheap are the domestic ones with the domestic guys who don't know jack sh|t.

 

Hehe those are the best places to get your stuff. My friend got an ITR tranny for 500 from one of those places.

Anybody have any references on what exactly people think OBD 2.5 and OBD3 are? And why they think they have already been installed?

Just because Honda switched the cat on the 2000+ model doesn't mean it's not still OBDII.

 

I have a 00' B18C1 and it's OBDII. I don't think OBDIII is even out yet. I could be wrong.
