Brakes went - any ideas on what happened?
Ok, so last night I was driving right, and some IDIOT decided to cut me off... so as usual I slammed on my brakes. Only problem was when I did so, after about a 1/4 of a second at full pedal pressure I heard a bang/pop. I lost pedal pressure and the car wouldn't stop under normal braking conditions, so I had to use the e-brake for the remainder of my trip. Now, the pedal falls all the way to the floor and I can still hear the 'hiss' of the pedal when I press/depress (booster). Any ideas of what it could be? I'm going to go out in a bit here and work my way back from the proportioning valve and see what's up. Maybe it was a line? OH yea, other weird thing too is that my e-brake warning light kept coming on everytime I pressed the brake pedal down like 20 mins before my brakes went. Now the e-brake light stays on and never shuts off.
Thanks,

well the light comes on when ur low on fluid or the brake is up (ebrake), it could also be the boot in the front caliper cuz the exact same thing that happened to me. just check everything starting from the calipers and drum master cylinder.
