Default finding a b16 transmission

Thanks a lot to the guys who helped me out on my last post about the all motor LS.... I'll order some crower stage 2 cams this winter, anyway... i have a question about the b16 transmission. I've found a couple on ebay but i was wondering if any of the major JDM motor distrubutor websites sells just transmissions. Thanks for the help

the title to this thread is misleading. Try your local classifieds for the best price on a B16 tranny

Why does it have to be a "JDM distributor"?

A JDM B16A1 tranny is different from the USDM B16 tranny. But if that's what you want, the gearing isn't THAT high. It's only slightly shorter than a USDM GSR and sightly longer than a USDM B16A. The final drive is 4.266, which is the same as an LS. The only thing good about the JDM B16A1 is the optional LSD that came on some of them.

But as the above poster said, try the classifieds. Your post title is misleading.

Okay....also I do believe the JDM B16A1 tranny is a cable tranny. Not 100% sure on this, but pretty sure. Check to make sure.

Yes the B16a1 is the 1st gen. Orginally manufactured with a cable tranny.

Most USDM B16's have same 1-2-3 gear differentials as JDM B16's
--Only difference with JDM is Final Drive and Built in LSD

By the way...I think the 1st gen. B16's did come with the LSD (not sure)
(Came out in Japan 88-91 but the USDM 88-91 civics did not come with this motor)
