Default Another octane question vti motor from euro in 90 si hatch

I have swapped a JDM d15b sohc vtec into my 1990 civic si hatch, i know that when i was in europe this summer all the gas stations had no less than 95 octane, most people were using the 98 octane, this motor has never seen 89, should i not run 89, should i run 93 or 94?

I believe the have a different system of rating octane. What is the compression ratio on that motor?
