well considering that the exhaust passes down the CENTER of the car after leaving the header and cat, the restriction would be the same.
The slanted muffler look you see on those Japanese drifter cars originated from those guys trying to get the least restrictive exhaust possible, and still having the muffler exit at the stock bumper cutout. They would run pipe straight back down the middle, passing under the gas tank and rear suspension, with a single bend over to the muffler, which made the muffler sit slanted under the rear bumper.
All those exhausts you see that have a slanted muffler yet utilize stock mounting points and pipe routing, are 100% for looks only.

Yeah well those had the muffler going side to side before exiting. It still went over the right side suspension, before passing back over to the left side w/ the sideways muffler. There were gains to be had by just having it exit out the right side.
On newer Civics and Integras that come out the right side anyway, there would be nothing to gain by making it come out the left side instead.

Wow, some of you have some pretty hardcore ideas on why everyone should have the same look! Just tryin to feel it out and see if anyone had thoughts on being different. I understand that the 240's use the stock mounts. I was just seeing if anyone had done it and what they thought. Also some of you guys make it sound like its going to be a terribly expensive mod. Its not that bad! The only thing I could think of truely being a problem would be going under the LCA, but then again Apexi N1 goes under the LCA. At least the older model did. So thank you for your input it is always good to get feed back from others who have been down the same road! Thanks a ton.
