Thats extremely cool, but good luck on finding help with 4ws 5th gen. They dont have em in the states and there arent to many foreigners on these boards. Good luck though!

Oh man, you got to find someone with the 5th 4WS manual, or maybe, the 4WS DTC's are the same on the 4th gens as they are on the 5th.

Someone with a 4th gen 4WS manual look up a code 25.

Hi,

I have checked the wiring today looks all good. Also checked the rear main steering sensor and rear sub steering sensor, these two sensors give a resistance value (Ohm), so i think these are also good. I have dtc's of a 4th gen prelude but it's a really different system. So i hope someone can help me out, of having a manual or something else every help is very welcome.

Thx

Somebody lookup in helms for this guy ..I bet the 4th gens codes are the same, would they really re-invent all the codes for 2years difference? ...

Could need the solder up fix where you need to disassemble the 4WS ECU and re-solder some of the points .. it was covered here recently, do a quick earch fo solder and 4ws

sub steering angle sensor
main steering angle sensor
4ws ecu

unplug the main relay sensor plug and check for 4.5 volts in all the squares ( the first square should read well over 4.5 though)
if there is then plug it back in and crawl back out from under the rear of the car.

unplug the 3 plugs attached to the 4ws ecu.

this next one takes some counting and another person to turn the steering wheel.
on the longer of the 2 connectors you unpluged from the 4ws ecu...
with the connector(plug) prong facing up
count from the left side of the connector 6 squares. stick the voltage testor point in that hole and have someone turn the wheel to the left and then to the right. the voltage should pulse from 0 - 4.5v.
then count 13 squares going from top row to bottom row/left to right. read the voltage in that square while someone is turning the wheel left to right. it should pulse 0-4.5v as the wheel turns.
now look at the other connector (not the 6 hole power connector)
with the connector prong facing up
count 2 squares from the left.
check the voltage in that terminal while the steering wheel is turned one full turn from left to right. there should be one change in voltage from 0-4.5v. if there is not then you need to replace your main rear steering angle sensor.
check these first then get back to us.

Hey,

My trouble code 25 is gone, i went to my Honda dealer today and he erased the code's stored in the memory, fault code 25 was gone now. But now i have a fault code 62, this is the demper relais. My dealer told me that the code 25 comes when a other code in this case 25 is entered. Because he have the PGM tester from Honda he can see much more data then i did. Cool device by the way ! I like to own some thing myself , but it's to expensive i think . So now i have the code 62. I know that the demper relais is located in the 4WS computer, so i have already resolder the computer whitout results. So now i gona test the 2 relais located in this devices. So if anybody have some other info about this problem, please tell me.

Greetings,

Kevin

only three things it can be are: rear actuator motor is shot (which i doubt since you where able to reset the code.... but how long did it last til the new code came about?)
there is a break in the wiring from the ecu. or the ecu itself has a problem with a terminal connection. the book states these terminal points 33+(positive) and 34-(negative) so basically there is a problem with the internal relay or there is no power getting to those 2 points... or a bad ground getting to point 34.

Hi,

Ive checked the computer and resolder all the points i can ! So normaly there is no bad contact on the 4WS ECU. So now i gonna check the wiring but it would be helpfull to having a wiring diagram, can you send me some some scan about it ? Even i you have other info about the 4WS i like to have it, can it be downloaded somewhere ?

Thx

Hello,

Here i am again it's getting stranger every day ! When i just start my car my 4WS light went out So i look of my rear wheels get turned but they don't ??? So i just started to drive the car and after a minute the light come's on again. I stopped an restart the car now it's staying on. When i come back home and restarted the car i went out again, still the rear wheels do not turn. So i think it must be a bad contact somewhere in the 4WS ECU, because sometimes i hear the relais going in and by the next start the doesn't come in. So i think i gonna re-assamble the ECU and resolder them again.
